Technical Implementer, MCS ePOS January 2013-Present

Rolling out a new point-of-sale system throughout the division as part of the implementation team. Working with branch and head office Partners, in both technical and retail arenas, to ensure a smooth conversion. Writing scripts and applications to automate key elements of the conversion process.

Underscore Apps

Owner and Developer August 2009-Present

Independent iOS and Mac development with two shipping applications: IssuesHub, a Mac-native implementation of GitHub's issue tracker; and Loops, a music practice app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Concept, development, testing, documentation and implementation, in addition to offering first line technical support to users. Active member of the developer community. Open-sourced multiple projects with ongoing development and support. Work with web services and APIs to deliver applications.

IT Hardware Implementer Stratford & Canary Wharf; Chichester - June-August 2011; March 2012

Working as part of the installation team to prepare, build, install and test the IT hardware for two new branches and one refurbishment. Liaising and building relationships with external contractors; taking an active role in problem determination and resolution, escalating issues to and working with Lead Installer and Central Systems teams where appropriate; completing systems delivery in accordance with agreed schedule to ensure successful occupation and store opening.

Web Applications Developer May-August 2009

Self-initiated project to develop a web-based application to simplify a significant amount of Catering administration work. Presenting proposal to Head of Catering team; working with Head of Catering team and Catering teams at trial branches to determine requirements for system; training trial branch teams; tailoring system according to feedback from users. Working individually to design, develop and complete the system within agreed time constraints.

Systems Support & Training Partner (Sept '12-Jan '13): Overseeing and maintaining branch systems to ensure continued operation. Working with selling departments to train staff on all aspects of systems operation, and handles any issues that arise. Liaise with Head Office teams on systems issues and new technology rollouts.
Changework Coordinator (Sept-Oct '12): Gathering requests from selling department managers for maintenance and fixture moves, planning and coordinating delivery of work with Maintenance and Visual Merchandising teams. Updating CAD floor plans to ensure accuracy.
EHT Selling Partner (Oct-Dec '10): Establishing customer requirements, suggesting products and closing sales; ensuring high merchandising standards; actively coaching colleagues on areas of stock selection; offering suggestions for improving department results.
Gift List Advisor (May-Oct '10): Responsible for improving communication across department and streamlining working methods. Registering and working with customers throughout lists, handling queries and solving any problems; working with other departments to source items; promoting JL Financial Services.
Front-of-House Team Leader & Catering Assistant (All other periods): Working with other Team Leaders and management team to implement department business plan. Systems trainer and SST liaison. Responsible for staff training and development; monitoring department performance; team supervision and resource planning; management of staffing budgets; providing outstanding customer service; large proportion of department's administrative work; maintaining compliance with relevant legislation; maintaining ticketing and merchandising standards.

Interests

Music Previously long-term member of local orchestra; leader of the percussion section for six years, responsible for teaching and coaching the other players of the section. Continues to play recreationally.
Photography Following degree studies, has maintained a significant interest in photography, continuing to practice and arranging exhibitions of work produced.
Sports Avid fan of a wide array of sports, in addition to playing for a local cricket team. Head administrator of an American football website.
